The Ski & Ride Program is an opportunity for 5th through 8th grade students at Crossett Brook Middle School to get out on the mountain and learn the joy of skiing, riding and snowshoeing. The program's philosophy is the Green Mountains are an amazing resource that should be accessible to all who live here. The CBMS Winter Sports Progam website provides information for children and families about registering for the program and requesting the scholarships provided by the Eli Brookens Memorial Fund.
Vermont Adaptive is supporting the Crossett Brook Winter Sports program to ensure that children of all abilities can participate and enjoy the outdoors. Vermont Adaptive is a nationally recognized organization that empowers people of all abilities through inclusive sports and recreational programming regardless of ability to pay. In addition to sports, year-round programming options integrate environmental, holistic wellness, and competitive training philosophies for people of all ages with cognitive, developmental, physical and emotional disabilities.
Our donors are integral partners in keeping the fund going and continuing to honor Eli's spirit. We appreciate ongoing donations to the fund.
The Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce continues to support the fund through the sale of their star kits. Each kit has everything necessary to create either a 3′ or 6′ tall star. The kits includes five sturdy, pre-drilled cross sticks, all necessary hardware, a set of lights and a wicked cool MRV sticker.
Sales of the beautiful star kits support Eli's fund as well as the funds set up to honor the other 4 friends who died alongside him.
Waterbury Sports is the local Bike Shop in the Summer, Ski Shop in the Winter, and your General Sporting Goods Store year round. Previously, the fund partnered with Waterbury sports to provide seasonal ski and snowboard lease packages.
Race Stock Sports in Waterbury, VT is a specialty retailer providing sales and service of high performance alpine ski equipment. Previously, the fund partnered with Race Stock to provide equipment to students in the program.
